Battalion 1944 To Have Closed Beta, Early Access

Old School World War 2 shooter, Battalion 1944, is on the way, and a new behind-the-scenes trailer has teased an Early Access release date. From Thursday, February 1, gamers will be able to test out the budding esport for around a year. It's previously been stated that the game will be commercially released for $15.

Battalion 1944 will have a closed beta from Friday, January 19 through to Sunday, January 21 for its supporters on Kickstarter and Humble Bundle. You can also apply for an invite to the closed beta, vying for a chance to play two maps and game modes:

  • Domination on the map Manorhouse V1
  • Wartide on the map Liberation.

It's been confirmed that the Early Access will be launched with six game modes. Featuring multiple classic game modes alongside main competitive play, including Team Deathmatch, Domination and Capture The Flag.

The game aims to revive and develop the "classic" FPS feel, geared for the next generation of gamers and esports. It will utilize a 5 vs. 5 team format, and allow players to use classic WW2 Weapons such as the Kar98, Thompson, and M1 Garand to dominate their opponents. Developer Bulkhead Interactive prides itself on the game having fluid movement, and places importance on teamwork.
